Waiting Game

Saturday, October 3, 2009

October 26 is the day. Yet another semen analysis (SA) is booked and from there we'll have some sense of what (if anything) we're working with.

Should there be any swimmers in that deposit, I will start doing SA's monthly in the hopes of freezing whatever we can. There won't be much (if any) and ICSI is definitely our only option if we use my sperm.

There's still a really good chance that donor sperm will be the route we have to take. A donor will always have to be on back up in case my boys don't come through.

But it's kind of exciting to think that maybe - just maybe there's a chance.

i actually am glad to share this with you. I watched baby story the other day...

they had this man and woman who really wanted a baby, but then they found out the dad had this illness like yours where he didnt produce sperm. So they did this biopsy and were able to find SIX SPERM!!! They did IVF and only implanted two of the six sperm, and they got pregnant the FIRST TIME, i am pretty sure with twins....i cried the whole show, it was amazing! maybe you can contact baby story show to get a taping, i am sure you would be inspired by it.

Boy do we know that feeling. we too are onto monthly tests although we aren't yet hoping for sperm, just some response tot he injections in the form of some testosterone... Anyway keeping fingers crossed for your SA! May it produce more than you hope and all that you need to get your BFP!

I hope this comes through.

The science is amazing. They don't need that many.

Just enough.

Best of luck.

Thanks everyone! Here's to hoping!

finding_ac: That's amazing! I'll definitely have to keep my eye out for that episode. Makes me hopeful that we might have a chance. Thanks.

I just found your blog and I love it. My husband and I are dealing with azoospermia, among other problems, and it's so refreshing to read your perspective.

I wish you lots of luck with the SA!

I have absolutely everything crossed for a good news. Meanwhile I'm passing on to you an award on my blog!
It'll be on my next post (if I manage to finish it in a reasonable time!)
